Thanksgiving and More

Maya with some birthday glasses on. We went to Party City to find some balloons for our Halloween costumes and Maya found all sorts of great treasures to play with. Luckily she is quite good at looking and not wanting to buy. We're trying to teach her to save her money for things that she wants. She gets an allowance of 26 cents a week and saves it in her little coin jar. She usually wants to buy candy with it at the grocery store. Rolo's are her favorite. It is nice though because when she hasn't brought her money she generally doesn't ask to buy anything.

Jenny and Kristen Sorrow running in Race for the Cure. We had a fun time running and seeing all of the spectators. Brett surprised us at the finish line. He was on call, but it was slow so he packed up the kids and came to cheer us on. It was such a great surprise to have him there.

Mason now has four and a half teeth. The top two are so funny looking. They are like little fangs because they aren't totally in yet. He is really growing up and is such a happy little guy.

One of Mason's favorite spots is inside of the refrigerator. He loves to unload all of the sauces out of the door. Any time I go to get something out of the fridge and he hears me he comes cruising into the kitchen to see if he can get a piece of the action. Every once in a while I do let him play in there if I really need to keep him occupied for a few minutes.

Maya and I decided to make some cookies one day. She looked through the cookie book and chose these ones. We had a great time making and decorating them together. She is a good little cook. Some of her favorite parts are cracking the eggs, measuring out ingredients and definitely eating the cookie dough.

A few weeks ago I went to a conference called "Time out for Women" with three of my friends. We left Friday afternoon and came back Saturday evening. It was such a fun, relaxing get away. There were speakers and singers and plenty of time to visit. It was great to not have anyone to worry about getting ready but myself. Brett and the kids had a good time at home. He is a wonderful dad and Mason and Maya love him so much. He was brave and took both kids to a wedding and reception by himself. I was impressed. Here is the Grinch in my new diaper bag. Maya loves the Grinch.

Maya and the Grinch are great friends. He often sleeps with her and goes with her on various outings. Here we are going to Stake Conference --Grinch and all. :) One night Brett and I were getting ready for bed and we heard Maya's bedroom door open. We listened to hear if she was going to come out and suddenly we heard, "Mom and Dad, the Grinch said his prayers" Then the door closed and that was the last we heard from her that night. The next morning she told us that she was teaching the Grinch to say his prayers. We laugh so much at all of her little imaginative games and scenario's. She has quite an imagination.
