Tennessee Valley Fair

Maya rode her first amusement park ride this year at the TN Valley Fair. We picked Brett up after work and headed out to the fair. Maya was amazed at all of the rides and also enjoyed seeing black sheep, sheep shearing, several cows, baby chicks, a baby goat, a juggler/balloon artist, shark show, discovery museum, and tons of rides. It is so wonderful and enjoyable to see her exploring the world and see her amazement at new things. We all had a great time and I am sure this will be a new tradition. Brett and I actually got one of our friends to watch the kids the next night so that we could go to the tractor pull together. It was a fun date night and a little flavor of Tennessee.

Maya got a balloon swan from the juggler/balloon man

Mason is exploring the wonderful world of food. He is a good little eater and is quite willing to try new things. Here he is tasting pureed black beans. Some of his favorites are sweet potatoes, apple sauce, peas and recently rice puffs. (We tried soggy bran flakes today and he was not so big of a fan, but we'll try them again, maybe mixed with something sweet.) He is also discovering the world around him now. He can army crawl quite well now and gets himself around pretty quickly(except he gets pretty mad when he gets stuck behind the toilet or under the piano bench). Maya has enjoyed having him more mobile and likes to play with him, unless, of course, he is getting into something she is working on. We are having fun with our little crew!
