Utah! Maya and I had a wonderful vacation to Utah, visiting family and enjoying the snow. Maya was in heaven with all of the cousins and loved getting reacquainted with everyone. It was nice to spend so much time there and be able to see so many of our loved ones. We did, however miss Brett a lot and were glad to get back to him and our normal routine. A month is a long time to be apart.

For those who have seen her, you know that Maya doesn't have much hair. We tried, however, to spice it up with a curler. It lasted about until the picture was over and then she pulled it out, but hey, it was worth a try.
There were plenty of new places to explore at Nana's house and Maya found just about all of them. Some of her favorites were under the bathroom sink, in the guestroom closet and reading on the familyroom chairs (she mastered the skill of climbing into them herself and was quite proud). Maya also discovered the fireplace--with her front tooth. Luckily it is a baby tooth because it now has a nice chip out of it. Luckily there wasn't any permanent damage, but she'll carry that scar with her for the next 5 or 6 years. :)
With 22 cousins (13 on my side and 9 on Brett's) and at least 3 more on the way there were always people to play with. Maya had so much fun getting to know some of them and playing with them. She learned how to blow kisses, give hugs and feed her baby while we were there.
Two babies were born while we were there, which was a real treat. My sister Shelly had a little boy, Gus, the day before we arrived and Brett's sister Kerri had a little girl, Vanessa, while we were there. It was so great to be able to meet them and get to spend some time with them. Being so far away we often miss out on special times like that with the family, but it was a real blessing to be able to be there and celebrate their arrivals.
Maya also got plenty of one on one time with Nana. We set up camp at my mom's house and were able to spend a lot of time together. Maya loved one of Nana's books called "You're my little lovebug". It is a book with silly rhymes set to music. The book plays the tune as you turn the pages and Maya went crazy over it. She loves music and would dance or laugh as Nana sang to her. We brought the book home with us and read it just about every day. It is darling.
All in all we had a wonderful trip and are so greatful to have such a loving, wonderful family. Thank you all for taking time to spend with us. We love you all!!
